DRACUT - Irene Y. (Jean) Germain, age 94, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Joseph U. Germain
She was born in Lowell on August 6, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Levesque) Jean. Irene was a longtime resident of Dracut where she was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish.
She was a member of the American-Canadian Geneological Society, of Manchester N. H., and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans VFW Walker-Rogers Post in Lowell.
She is survived by her children, Irene Liporto and her husband Ernest of St. Petersburg, FL and Joseph Germain and his wife Alice of Lowell; three grandchildren. Joseph Germain and his wife Tracey, Michelle Liporto and Michael Liporto and his wife Bethany; 3 great grandchildren, Shayleen Germain and Grace and Emma Liporto; three brothers, Leo, Wilrose, and Joseph Jean; three sisters, Victory Beaulieu, Gloria Fauvel, Rose Poirier; numerous nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Rene, Wilfred, Walter, Raymond, Roland, Andrew, Arsene, Alexander, Theresa, and Mary Rose Jean, and Antoinette Soulard.
ARRANGEMENTS - Family and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 4 to 7pm. Interment will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery. To share your thoughts and memories of Irene, please click the sign guestbook link.
