Dracut Police are investigating the cause of a head-on collision that sent four people to area hospitals on Tuesday.

The accident involved three vehicles in all and took place around 4:30 p.m., on Broadway Street near the intersection of Methuen Road, according to public safety officials.

Two SUVs and a sedan were involved in the crash, though it was not immediately disclosed, which vehicles play what roles in the accident.

Three people from the sedan sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Lawrence General Hospital. The driver of one of the SUVs was also injured and taken to Lowell General Hospital. That person's injuries were also considered to be non-life threatening.

The driver of the second SUV was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
