Francis J. LeVasseur, age 79, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Dec. 29, 2016 at Westford House following a brief illness.
He was born in Lowell, Nov. 23, 1937, son of the late Leon & Florianne (Michaud) LeVasseur. He attended Lowell Schools.

Prior to his retirement, Francis worked in the concrete industry for 28 years, retiring from Sam-Viel Co. of Littleton.  He also worked at Ideal-Tape of Lowell for a short time.  In his spare time he enjoyed going to Bible Lessons for 24 years.  He also enjoyed mystery novels, and all types of music.

He is survived by his children, Francis LeVasseur, Jr., of Dracut; Lisa Wiggins of Lowell; Linda Cardoza and her Husband Manny of Lowell; a brother and sister-in-law, Leon & Carol LeVasseur of Florida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothee Crofton of Michigan; Theresa & Mikol Jack of Methuen; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; also many nieces & nephews.  He is also survived by his former wife, Theresa (Laferriere); and leaves many dear friends including Robert & Sandy Jones of Tewksbury.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to his Visitation and Funeral on THURSDAY Jan. 5, 2017 from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA.  Committal to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
