Small School consolation IAABO 95 Holiday Tournament at Lowell Catholic 

Greater Lowell 70, Littleton 54

Greater Lowell Tech beat Littleton 70-54, improving to 5-1 on the season.

Sophomore  Luis Huertas continued his strong play with 25 points for the Gryphonns. Paul Choate had 13 points and six assists. Ricky Byron added nine points. Ian Kirumira chipped in with six points and eight rebounds, Anthony Thach had six points, while Calab Scott had four.

Boston Holiday Challenge

It was a highly successful day for the Dracut High School throwers at the Boston Holiday Challenge on Wednesday.

Senior Ty Burgoyne tool 1st place in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 51 feet, 6 inches. Burgoyne was also third in the weight throw, with a toss of 47 feet in his first ever effort in the event.

Junior Josh Salem placed  sixth in the shot put with a throw of 43-11 3/4.

Mikaylah Schwartz placed second in the shot put for the Middies, breaking her own Dracut High record in the process, with a throw of 39-6 1/4. Gabbie Brown took ninth in the shot put with a throw of 33- 3/4.

Jake Callery had two goals and an assist but Dracut came up short against a talented Salem, NH squad. 

Adam Berger also scored for the Middies. Nate Lapointe added two assists.
