Helen (Piekos) Szymaszek
Helen was born in Suncook, NH on September 3, 1922, one of six children, to the late Marcin and Antonina (Janas) Piekos. She was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School.
Helen was a talented cook, especially when it came to making Polish food and pastries for her family. She was also very proud of her Polish heritage and its customs and tradtions. Helen was very thoughtful and giving, and was famous for always remembering to send cards on birthday's and special days.
Helen was a life long member of Holy Trinity Parish where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the Senior Citizens Club and was also a member of the PAV. Above all, Helen enjoyed spending time with her family who meant so much to her.
Helen is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughters, Ellen Selfridge of Sanford, ME, Mary Ann Greenwood of Littleton, MA; her son, Edward J. Szymaszek and his wife June of Dracut; grandchildren, Kimberly Shaw and her husband Jamie, Amy Turgeon and her husband Bill, Matthew Szymaszek and his wife Sarah, Kara Arpin and her husband Todd, Katie Anderson and her husband T J, and Alyson Hayward and her husband Chris. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Brian Shaw, Carly and Kendra Turgeon, Cameron and Nathaniel Arpin, and Chloe Szymaszek; sister-in-law, Bernadette Piekos of Lowell, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her son, Richard Szymaszek in 2015.
