An 18-year-old Dracut woman sustained serious injuries to her leg in a Christmas Eve accident.

The accident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Stewart Street at Tyngsboro Road, triggering a full emergency response.

According to a Dracut Fire Department spokesman, the victim, whose name was not released, lost control and rolled over the SUV she was driving due to "black ice" on the roads. The driver was partially ejected and wound up with with her leg pinned under the roof of the vehicle.

The woman had to be freed from under the vehicle and received treatment at the scene, but due to the severity of the injury to her leg, she was taken by Med-Flight to a trauma unit at a Boston hospital.

Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
