Middies, Gryphons Roundup: GLT Wrestlers Shine In Wayland, Desmarais Wins SOI Tournament

Greater Lowell Tech placed 4th at the Wayland Invitational Tournament.

Junior guard Julia Otoski had 12 points, but Dracut fell to Chelmsford, 44-37.

Melissa Iannuzzo added 11 points an seven rebounds for the Middies.. Kathy Morissette chipped in with seven points.

Desmarais Leads Dracut at Sons of Italy Tournament

Dracut's Andrew Desmarias had a perfect weekend to win the 195-pound class at the Sons Italy Tournament in Wilmington. Desmarais won the title with a pin in the title match.

Also for the Middies, Allyn French was third at 182. Zach Lakmany (132) and Evan Maloney (285) each placed fourth in their respective weight classes.

Greater Lowell Places Fourth At Wayland Tournament

Greater Lowell got individual championships from Zack Hamilton (170) and Donny Wilson to place fourth place as a team at the Wayland Invitational Tournament. Hamilton and Wilson each had two pins among their three wins.

Melrose won the team title with 229.5 points.

Greater Lowell got second place finishes from Pat Carney (113) and Zach Finch (145). Brett Weissbach (106), Ron Rossetti (120), Dave McKay (138) and Anthony Blatus (160) each placed third.
