Middies, Gryphons Roundup: DHS Hockey Takes Third In Tournament, GLT Wrestlers Stay Perfect

Dracut 5, Nashoba Tech 3

Dracut High dropped a 3-0 decision to a strong Newton South squad in the semifinals of the ALS Tournament .

The Middies trailed just 1-0 after two periods, before Newton South pulled away.

Dracut goalie Ryan Hardy made 20 saves.

But the Middies (2-1-0) rebounded the next night and knocked off Nashoba Tech, 5-3 in the consolation game.


Greater Lowell 52, Greater Lawrence 23

The Gryphons evened their record at 1-1 with a 29-point thrashing of Greater Lawrence.

Araceli Lopez led the way for Greter Lowell with 13 points and five rebounds. Michaela Kelly added nine  points and four steals, while Jada Howell chipped in with eight points.

Greater Lowell 72, Essex Tech 50

The Gryphons continued their strong play at the start of the season with a blowout win over Essex Tech.

Luis Huertas pumped in 21 points, dished out four assists and had three steals to lead Greater Lowell. Ian Kirumira had an excellent all-around game with nine points, five assists, nine rebounds and five steals.

Ricky Byron chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.

Lawrence 24, Dracut 18
