Anthony C. "Butch" Picanso obituary
Born on January 12, 1933, in Lowell, MA, Anthony was a son of the late Antonio and Delia (Bawolek) Picanso. He began his career working at Ames Textile, and later became Owner and Operator of Melanson's Café/Butch's Bar on Middlesex Street, in Lowell for over 50 years.
Butch was an avid sports fan, always cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots and attended many Super Bowls, including the very first Super Bowl in 1967. He also enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas. Butch proudly served in the US Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 0100, of Pelham NH and the VFW Post 662, of Lowell, MA.
Along with his wife, Nancy, Butch is survived by and will be deeply missed by his brothers-in-law, Francis Jarek and his wife Linda of Hudson, and Gerald "Jake" Jarek and his companion Donna Dusablon of Lowell; nieces and nephews, Kathy Gagnon and her husband Gerard of Lowell, Walter Koziarski of Lake Winnipesaukee, Mary Jane Kukulski of Dracut, Cheryl Clark of Salisbury, Edwin Bozek and his wife Karen of Dracut, Robert Kukulski and his companion Cheryl Sargent of Dunstable, William Kukulski and his wife Ann of Hampstead, NH, Jill Pimental and her companion Rufus Rendelman of Dracut, Jack Lyman and his wife Robin of Dracut, Brian Kukulski and his wife Debra of Dracut, Kevin Jarek of Norton, Frank Jarek and his wife Laura of Londonderry, NH, Nicole Guidobani of Manchester, NH and Pamela and Aaron Missner of Nashua, NH; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sister, Laura Koziarski and her husband Walter; niece, Patricia Koziarski. sister-in-law, Martha Kukulski and her husband Frank Kukulski Sr.; brother in-law, Mike Jarek; nephew, Frank Kukulski Jr.;
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on WEDNESDAY, October 12, 2016, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, Dracut. Butch's funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with a graveside service to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lowell Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854-2134.
