James Oliveira obituary
James was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on November 21, 1924, a son of the late Mary (Brilhante) and Antonio Oliveira. He was educated in the Westport school system. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After his service, he was employed as a Foreman by the Raytheon Corporation in both the Shawsheen and Lowell plants, for over 29 years until his retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed baseball and football, especially the Red Sox and Patriots, as well as working outside in his yard.
Along with his loving wife, James is survived by his son, Ronald Olivera and his wife Leona of Groveland, MA; his step-children, Susan Farrell of Lowell, Michael Farrell of Dracut, and Maria Hanley of Mason, NH; grandchildren, Jaime and Lisa Olivera, and Rhonda Greene, all of Groveland; his step-grandchildren, Corey and Eli Robinson, both of Lowell, Bethany Yates of Nashua, NH, Jessica Albert of Goffstown, NH, Christina Potalivo of Georgia, and Annmarie Griffin of Lowell; his step great-grandchildren, Jailyn Albert, and Hailey, Ashley, Nadia and Marcus Tran; his sister, Laura Ferriera of Westport, MA; niece, Kathleen Ferreira of Westport, MA; and his nephew, Jerry Ferriera and his wife Lisa of Tiverton, RI.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Ronald Olivera, Jr, and his brother, Edward Oliveira.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, Dracut. His funeral service will be held on SATURDAY, October 1, at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery, Tyngsboro.
