A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing that took place Saturday night, around 9 p.m. in a Mammoth Road neighborhood.

According to Dracut Police Chief Neil Ouellette, the victim in the case remains hospitalized and is being treated for his injuries. The severity of the injuries has not been released.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday. The specific charges have also not been released. Multiple sources confirm the incident was domestic in nature, which is why few details are being made available.

According to a report published on Lowellsun.com, emergency crews were called to a Pine Valley Drive residence for a report that a man had been stabbed. The victim was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital.

As the result of a DPD investigation, the suspect was taken into custody shortly before 10 p.m.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
