UPDATE: Power Knocked Out To Nearly 2,000 Dracut Customers

According to National Grid, 317 customers in Dracut are still without power, with full restoration expected by 9 p.m.
Nearly 2,000 customers have been without power since around 4:45 p.m. due to what the company has described as an equipment problem at the Bridge Street substation.
The area impacted included customers from Lakeview Avenue all the way to the New Hampshire border.
National Grid crews are working to restore power to 1,978 residents, following a significant power outage in the Lakeview Avenue area of town.
According to National Grid, power went out just before 5 p.m. there were reports of an explosion, possibly from a transformer, just prior to the outage.
According to National Grid, power is expected to be restored at approximately 6:45 p.m.
In the meantime, the Twitter feed "Dracut Incidents" is reporting Police and Fire crews responded to the scene of a reported gas leak at 1595 Lakeview Ave. around 5:15 p.m.
It's not immediately knows if the two incidents are related.
