Dracut 13, Lawrence 12
Dracut built a halftime lead and held on for a thrilling 13-12 win over MVC rival Lawrence.
The Middies (1-1) were led by quarterback Mike Levasseur, who rushed for 75 yards and completed a pair of passes for 37 more. Allen French added 53 yards on the ground, including a 24-yard touchdown run that gave Dracut a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter.
That lead was short-lived, however, as Lawrence's Daryl Munoz returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown to tied the game.
Dracut reclaimed the lead just before halftime, on a three-yard touchdown run by Levasseur. Zach Lakmany kicked the PAT, to give the Middies a 13-6 lead at intermission.
That kick would prove to be critical, as Lawrence rallied on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Ronny Pena to Andre Wilson with 1:53 to play in the fourth quarter. But the Middies came up big on the conversion attempt and the Lancers' pass attempt for the two-point conversion failed.
